‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ Update: CD Projekt RED faces several challenges a week after game’s highly anticipated launch

By

Despite being hailed as one of the best video games ever created right after it highly anticipated launch last week, a few players of CD Projekt RED's "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" found a few chinks on the game's armor. Some players even cited a few disturbing glitches that gravely affect the game's stunning video quality.

The glitch on "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" revolved mainly on headless or dismembered AI; even Geralt was not spared from the glitches. The clips also involved floating bodiless heads as well as a bizarre bed scene where players would be seeing Geralt's head floating on top of a bed, based on a report from Kotaku.

Apart from the human AI suffering from glitches, the animal AI were also not spared from acting weird on some instances in the game. In one incident, Geralt was even able to summon a herd of horses in the forest. Also, there were also some quirky ways a horse would move when situated or "parked" in a specific area on a forest.

Aside from that, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" fans' had also started petitioning CD Projekt RED to use AMD's TressFX Hair simulation technology. The petition started after the controversy surrounding Nvidia's HairWorks technology, wherein Hairworks performed poorly with AMD hardware. Add to that, CD Projekt RED's Marcin Momot confirmed that simulation effect for Nvidia's HairWorks technology "cannot be optimized for AMD products," based on a report from WCCFTech.

It was also made known in the past prior to the highly anticipated launch of the game that CD Projekt RED had a tie-up with Nvidia. This led to a barrage of comments and feedback from fans of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" particularly on the partnership program that was affecting the game's over-all performance.

Also, CD Projekt RED faced an underwhelming review surrounding the small subtitles in the game's current generation consoles. Fortunately, it would seem that the game developer would provide a hotfix for that in the upcoming patch for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" PS4 edition, based on a report from PlayStation Lifestyle.

Also included in the upcoming PS4 patch, Momot mentioned that a hotfix for the Pyres of Novigrad bug would also be included in the upcoming PS4 patch. Momot said that ""The next patch (1.04) should contain fixes to the quest bugs you guys have been reporting and an increased subtitle size."

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" was released on May 19th on PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
