"Fifty Shades Darker," the sequel to E.L. James' erotic trilogy, "Fifty Shades of Grey" will hit theatres in 2017. While fans still have a long waiting to do, several new cast members have been added to appear in the upcoming sequel, which is bound to get darker, steamier and sexier. Will Dakota Johnson reprise her role as Anastasia Steele opposite to Jamie Dornan's Christian Grey?
"Fifty Shades Darker" introduces several new characters including the infamous Elena Lincoln (whom Anastasia labels as Mrs. Robinson), Leila Williams and Jack Hyde. While the cast and crew of the upcoming sequel are still mum about details, several actors and actresses are rumored to play the respective characters in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel.
Charlize Theron is rumored to play the role of Christian's business partner, Elena Lincoln, who introduced him to the world of BDSM. Model Cara Delevingne has been reportedly approached to audition for the role of one of Christian's former submissives, Leila Williams. "Man of Steel" Henry Cavill is one of the fan-favorite characters rumored to play as Anastasia's maniac editor, Jack Hyde.
Meanwhile, Dakota Johnson has confirmed that she will be reprising her role as Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades Darker." Johnson, however, was not the first actress to be offered the role in "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie adaptation. According to Movie News Guide, "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke admitted in an interview that she was initially slated to play the role of Ana. The 28-year-old actress revealed that she was excited to work with Sam Taylor-Johnson, but had to turn down the role because it had too many nude scenes.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is also expected to get darker, sexier, and steamier, as Jamie Dornan, who plays Christian Grey has been recently offered $1.5 million to go full frontal in the upcoming sequel.
Dornan has previously expressed his worries over going completely naked in front of the cameras. The 33-year-old actor said that he feels "embarrassed" to bare it all and finds it a "peculiar thing" to do on screen.
"Fifty Shades Darker" premieres on Feb. 9, 2017.
