The seventh installment for "Fast And Furious" entitled "Furious 7" was released just recently and the flick had grossed over one million dollars in sales. Due to this, the producers and the cast of the movie revealed that an eighth installation to be called "Fast And Furious 8" is already in the works and will be released by April 2017.
The one who officially announced that "Fast And Furious 8" will be happening was Vin Diesel when he was present at the Las Vegas CinemaCon that took place last April. He shared that the movie will be taking place in New York City but the plot has not been revealed yet as per the report of Ecumenical News.
It can be remembered that "Furious 7'' focused on Jason Statham's character seeking revenge on Diesel and the late Paul Walker. The film was also a tribute to the death of Walker who died in a car accident while the seventh installment was halfway to being finished.
It remains unknown if most of the scenes of the film will take place in NYC but Diesel took to Instagram to show a promotional poster for the upcoming film. The photo included the logo of the movie above the Brooklyn Bridge surrounded by the NYC Skyline. It will not be a surprise if the film will be including other scenes as the previous installments had parts of it shot in different cities around the world.
According to Christian Post, other stars who will return for the next installment are Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Statham and Kurt Russell. These have not been confirmed yet by James Wan, the director of the movie.
A familiar face will also be introduced and it is said to be Eva Mendes who will be playing the character of Diesel's mistress. Mendes will be coming back as she was in the second installment of the film as U.S. Customs Agent Monica Fuentes. Other female stars rumored to appear are Ronda Rousey and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
"Fast And Furious 8" will be out in theatres by April 2017 and there are more updates to come regarding the status of the movie's production.
