Michael Mitnick to Direct "Some are Born Great" Movie: The mind behind "The Giver" ready to conquer the big screens

Michael Mitnick, the writer of the movie "The Giver," will reportedly be directing the upcoming film "Some Are Born Great." Mitnick is also known for making the scripts for the movie "The Current War" and "Pinocchio."

"The Current War" has been adopted by The Weinstein Company and "Pinocchio" has been written for Warner Bros. and will be starring Robert Downey Jr. The movie "Some Are Born Great" will be the directorial debut of Mitnick and he will be working alongside Peter Saraf and March Turtletaub as reported by Deadline.

The plot of the movie is still under the wraps but it will be a contemporary comedy that is being patterned from the flick "Groundhog Day." Aside from the movie "Some Are Born Great," Mitnick is also working on the script for the flick "Memoirs Of An Imaginary Friend" that will be produced by Whalerock and Four By Two with the lead character played by Sacha Baron Cohen.

Mitnick has been recognized regarding his scripts as he also co-wrote the musical entitled "Fly By Night," which has been nominated for four Drama Desk Awards. He is also the executive story editor for the rock'n' roll drama series of HBO that talks about Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese, and Mick Jagger. He also received the Best New American Play Award.

The plays and music plays developed by Michael Mitnick have been used and developed in different countries and theatres all over the world. This theatres include the Manhattan Theatre Club, Second Stage, Ars Nova, The McCarter, The Denver Center Theatre Company, TheatreWorks, The Lark, Studio 42, Washington Ensemble Theatre, Page 73, and The Kennedy Center as per his website.

Mitnick's "The Giver" has had a lot of positive reviews when it was released last year. In a report by Variety, the movie has been dubbed as the effects of what people are doing now to what the future holds for the citizens of the earth. Mitnick, who worked with Robert B. Weide, has been praised for his work for the film as they have remained faithful to the plot and made the characters as memorable as they can be.
