Developer Hamza Sood posted iOS 9 support codes that revealed big improvement in the Apple iPhone 7 front facing camera on June 10 in his Twitter account.
Others are expecting that Apple is going to release the iPhone 7 this year and one of the hardware improvements that the company is said to make in their flagship carrier is its camera. Further, the iOS 9 is also going to play a part in the phone's functionality.
Developer Hazma Sood reportedly spotted a code in the iOS 9 that may give eager fans a clue of what's coming in the iPhone 7. In his Twitter account, he saw that the code pertains to an enhancement of the front facing camera.
"iOS 9 is hinting at future device front cameras having: 1080p resolution, 240fps slow mo, panoramic capture, flash," observed Hamza Sood.
The developer highlighted at least 8 improvements in the iPhone 7 front camera captures:
1. Support for 1080p FaceTime camera
2. Support for 60fps video capture
3. Support for 240 fps at 720p FaceTime camera
4. Support for front camera flash
5. Support for panorama front capture
6. Support for slomo front capture
7. Support for Torch Pattern front capture
8. Support for Torch front capture
With these, users can have flash for front cameras, panoramic selfies, and slomo front capture.
"Other additions to iOS 9 discovered in the code include support for a front-facing camera flash - something Apple hasn't included on any previous iPhone - and the ability to capture panoramic selfie photos using the front camera. Currently, Apple reserves many of these capabilities for the more powerful backside camera, although it's likely that Apple would plan feature improvements for the popular front facing camera on future iPhones," noted 9 to 5 Mac.
The developer was known for his accurate information about iOS upgrades in the past and, prior to the iOS 9, he reportedly posted screenshots of what Apple Watch's Activity app would look like before the smartwatch was released.
Though he did not specify that the device is the Apple iPhone 7, others are expecting that it could be it.
"But many have reported that Apple is planning some significant changes when it comes to the iPhone's camera. Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities predicts that the next iPhone will come with a new 12-megapixel main camera, which would be a step up from the current iPhone's 8-megapixel camera," cited Business Insider.
If Apple intends to roll out the iPhone 7 this year, it is estimated to be around September 25.
