Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage Chapter 7, Chapter 8, Recaps, Spoilers: Sarada's Mom Revealed

By

"Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage" Chapter 7 was all about discovering secrets and understanding the bond between parent and child. And while Sasuke and Naruto are still trying to figure out where to rescue Sakura, Sarada finds the truth behind her parentage and is distraught with the discovery.

Chapter 6 ended with Sakura in the hands of the injured Shin Uchiha. The enemy was ordering Sakura to do a transplant using the younger Shin's organ so that he can recover. Chapter 7, aptly titled "A Genetic Slave", starts off with Shin revealing that the child is a clone that has the same DNA he has, referring to them as "stock to be used a flesh" since they exist only for him "to have flesh". This shocked and angered Sakura, telling him he shouldn't do that since he's not even Orochimaru. Shin then replies that Orochimaru was his teacher, or more accurately he was Orochimaru's old experiment.

Over to Sasuke and Naruto were still trying to figure out where Sakura could be, until Naruto mentioned how Kakashi thinks the enemy has something to do Orochimaru because of the sharingan that was embedded in Shin's left arm. They decided to head off to Orochimaru's hideout, bringing the kids with them to keep them safe. Sarada was quiet all throughout Naruto and Sasuke's exchange, looking teary-eyed and worried about her mother Sakura. Chou Chou tries to lighten the mood by offering salt flavoured snacks to Sasuke and Sarada, but the two just ignored her.

Back in the enemy's lair, Sakura and Shin had a long discussion about genes, reproductive cells and the clones being "children" - a way for everyone to survive for all eternity since living things are meant to die. Sakura was telling Shin that even though the clones or "children" were genetically created, they still have thoughts and perceptions that live within them, and how the relationship between parent and child is more than passing genes. Still Shin cannot be moved, even comparing the whole idea of cloning to being a ninja wherein only the strongest are chosen. This further angered Sakura, yelling at Shin that he has no idea of being a parent.

Meanwhile, Naruto's gang arrived at Orochimaru with Sasuke leading the way. The party met with Suigetsu and a young Orochimaru -- whom Chou Chou funnily tried to consider as a potential parent but can't figure out if it'll be her mother or father. Sarada looked at Suigetsu curiously and remembered he was one of the three people that was with Sasuke in the picture she has with her.

Sasuke demanded Orochimaru to tell them who and where Shin Uchiha, but Orochimaru didn't seem to know who he was until Sasuke mentioned the sharingan embedded all over the man's body. Orochimaru then showed them the laboratory where a young boy was floating inside a glass chamber, explaining how Shin was a former experiment and the man's ability helped Orochimaru unravel the mysteries of genetics through cloning. When Sasuke adamantly asked where to find Shin again, Orochimaru mentioned how it would also do him good if Shin was destroyed. He then led them into the monitor room so he could disclose more information about Shin.

Sarada didn't join them though, instead, she tugged on Suigetsu's arm, asking which room the woman in the photo was. Suigetsu replied that it was Karin and she wasn't there. Sarada asked about her mother and the connection of the woman in the photo to her father. Suigestu was shocked and thought to himself that it might be a possibility that Karin and Sasuke could have been together at one point. He decides to help Sarada, looking around the desk to find a hair sample that he thought was from when Karin was born. He collects a swab specimen from Sarada and runs both samples in a DNA machine. Lo and behold! The genes matched!

Needless to say Sakura was shocked! Suigetsu, not knowing how earth shattering the results were, nonchalantly told Sakura that her mother was none other than Karin. When he saw that Sakura was crying, he left the room and found Naruto standing just outside the door. He said how he might have done something bad, saying how Sasuke is at fault and implying that Naruto knew about it. Naruto angrily denied it and cursed Sasuke for being stupid. He decides to enter the room where Sakura is crying, and gently told her that they'll be leaving soon to save her mother. Chapter 7 ends with Sarada telling Naruto he was liar and why should she save someone who isn't her mother.

The heart of this chapter was towards the final scenes where Sarada discovers the truth about her mother. Now, Naruto fans knows that the Sarada and Karin are indeed mother & daughter. But the mystery that remains is how it happened since she grew up with Sakura as her mom.

Chapter 8 will definitely be exciting where we hopefully will learn more about the circumstances behind Sarada's birth or her parentage. Fans are thinking that despite Naruto's reaction, he might know something about Karin and Sasuke, and that he could possibly be present during Sarada's birth. There's still that confrontation between Sasuke and Sarada, now that she knows about her birth mother, will Sasuke stay silent or will he admit it? And will Sarada change her mind about not going to save Sakura?

The latest chapter left Naruto fans with a lot of questions, hopefully the next chapter of Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage will be able to provide manga readers with answers.
