Could it be true? George RR Martin was reported to have committed a release date for his upcoming novel, "The Winds of Winter." Based on web reports, the novelist who created the masterly crafted world of Westeros that was adapted for television in the series "Game of Thrones" planned to release his next book before "GoT 6."

Although, Martin had made several announcements during the start of the year the "The Winds of Winter" would not be scheduled for publication anytime this year, previous reports indicated that he also said that he would be able to finish the book in 2016, based on the report Vine Report. With that supposed target publication year, the upcoming book might even be released before the next season of "Game of Thrones."

Martin had been every elusive on defining a specific publication date for his next novel. Even his publishers were kept in the dark on when the next book would be finished. At times, it would even seem that Martin had grown tired and unamused as web reports tried to connect the highly anticipated book's release in any of the previous and upcoming national holidays.

Then again, the TV series "Game of Thrones" had been moving so fast that it had been taking "tidbits" from Martin as the TV adaptation of the novelist's 2011 work "A Song of Fire and Ice" prepares for its 6th season in 2016. With that, it seemed that Martin would now be committed in making a deadline for "The Winds of Winter" by next. Reports also added that the author was so immersed in his work that he refused to make appearances and even turned down two convention appearances.

Nonetheless, it was reported that Martin would be giving out a preview chapter of "The Winds of Winter" during the ConQuest that would be held in August, based on a report from Yibada. The preview chapter to be featured in ConQuest 2015 in Germany would be a chapter on Sansa Stark titled, "Alayne."

Meanwhile, "Game of Thrones" fans would surely be delighted to learn that the next season of their favorite TV series would be shot as planned in scenic Girona and Peñíscola in Spain.
