Sam Heughan made his acting debut in his breakthrough role as Jamie Fraser in the critically acclaimed Starz series, "Outlander." The Scottish actor revealed several details about him and his character, including his thoughts on earning an Emmy Award.
Sam Heughan made his groundbreaking performance in the Starz time traveler series "Outlander." It isn't quite a surprise that his outstanding performance, especially in the penultimate episode of Season 1 titled, "Wentworth Prison," has earned him an Emmy Award.
Now, the Scottish actor revealed his thoughts on which actors and actresses in "Outlander" deserve an Emmy award.
"I think everybody does. Caitriona is terrific... Tobias, equally, he's an amazing actor," Heughan told The Wrap.
The 35-year-old actor revealed that Tobias Menzies (Black Jack Randall) has helped him a lot especially in portraying the torture scenes from the episodes "Wentworth Prison" and "To Ransom A Man's Soul." He also praised the costume department, writers and directors, and said that everyone from the team deserved to get an award for a job well done.
Meanwhile, the actor also jokingly remarked that if there would be a new category added to the Emmys, he would call it "The Ginger Award."
"Gingers get a bad rep. They get teased at school. So we should feel sorry for them. I'm only saying this because now I have a ginger beard, I'm playing a ginger. So I'm beginning to understand what they have to go through," Heughan said.
The cast and crew of "Outlander" have already begun filming for Season 2, which covers Diana Gabaldon's second book, "Dragonfly in Amber," Zap2It reported.
"Outlander" Season 2 will see the return of Heughan as Jamie, Caitriona Balfe as Claire and Tobias Menzies as Frank. Fans will also see new faces in the upcoming season, including Jamie's former love Annalise de Marillac which will be played by French actress Margaux Chatelier.
