'Final Fantasy 7 Remake' Update: Nostalgic Trailer is more than an HD remake; Tetsuya Nomura reveals more details than a visual upgrade

Finally after almost 2 decades of rumors and speculations, Square Enix has announced that the hit game Final Fantasy VII will have an HD remake. The news was announced at E3 2015 in Sony's game conference at Los Angeles. Tetsuya Nomura reveals that the game is not just a mere visual upgrade.

The Final Fantasy Series by SquareSoft (Square Enix) is one of the longest running game franchise in the industry. Everyone at Sony's E3 2015 gaming conference was happy to hear that the classic 1997 videogame Final Fantasy VII will finally have a remake. CBC News reports that it will be released for the PlayStation 4 "first" and it may also be available in the future for the PC and other consoles like the Xbox One.

A 2 minute trailer for Final Fantasy 7 was also shown at the conference and the stunning graphics of the video was already enough to amaze gamers. Siliconera reports that the Final Fantasy VII remake is on an entirely new level compared to the original game that simply look irregularly shaped polygons used in the original PlayStation.

Unfortunately, Sony did not show a gameplay trailer and it is also uncertain if the remake will just be a visual upgrade to the game or the story and gameplay will be changed according to The Register. However, Tetsuya Nomura, the game's producer, said at a recent interview that a mere visual upgrade will not be a much of a selling point so it is likely that some changes will be made to the story.

The original story of Final Fantasy VII revolves around the life of the young mercenary Cloud Strife, who is fighting against the evil Shinra, Inc. As he fights the evil company, he several other characters such as his childhood friend Tifa Lockhart and the grumpy pilot Cid Highwind. The remake may also let players see Final Fantasy VII as another character instead of Cloud Strife.

Final Fantasy 7 is an RPG videogame developed by Square Enix. It was originally made for the PlayStation console and the HD remake of the game will be available for the PlayStation 4. The release date of the game has not yet been announced.
