Riot Games finally unveiled the newest champion in its League of Legends franchise with its teaser trailer release. The new character is none other than Tahm Kench, the River King who specializes in Team Defense.
iDigitalTimes reports that Tahm Kench is a fiendish fish-like creature who possesses the qualities of a real champion and remarkable game-changing abilities. This monstrous catfish may look fancy-dressed, Riot Games unveiled its newest champion in the League of Legends franchise, who both possesses a support and a fighter type character.but the River King's impressive abilities could pretty much deliver the team to victory, specializing in isolating the opposing team's heroes. His special skills may contribute much to the team's defense, but he is no ordinary support character, as his abilities double as a fighter and for support.
His powers and abilities showcases his immense appetite and a monstrous body built according to GameSpot. And it turns out that this River King is not choosy at all and eats anything: minions, nemeses, and even allies. He attacks his enemies in Q ability using "tongue lash", in which he lashes out his tongue and anyone hit by this slimy muscle suffers damage and is slowed down, and three hits stuns an enemy. On the other hand, W enables to use the "devour" attack, which simply means he swallows the target. Enemies swallowed suffer damages while allies "devoured" become immune to any kind of attack while being swallowed. On top of that, his R ability is the "Abyssal Voyage". Tagged as his ultimate ability, such attack enables Tahm Kench to release his swallowed allies, and as they jump out, the River King generates a whirlpool beneath him and teleports on another part of the map. With such ability, Tahm Kench provides a support oriented player type, enhancing the team's defense from damages. Riot describes: "Once he's wobbled into lane, his main role is to stick with his land buddy, making sure they're safe."
Equipped by a passive attack called "Acquired Taste", he'll be able to hit opposing champions with basic attacks or damaging abilities, and once he manages to deliver three stacks, he will be able to interact with them "differently". Epitomizing the idea of having a great defense is the best offense, the River King's unchallenged support strengthens the team, as he can mercilessly devour enemies and cause massive damage, as well as swallow injured allies, protecting them for further damage while leading them to safety. He is further described in the League of Legends official site: "Meandering out of lane under the pretense of warding, Tahm Kench can meet up with his jungler before using Abyssal Voyage to set up a gank."
This heroic and, at the same time, monstrous River King, is included in the all new 5.12 Patch of Riot Games' League of Legends.
