Galaxy Note Edge Android 5.1 Lollipop update is happening now. Sprint's Note Edge will be updated to NP15PVPU4COFE version while Galaxy S6 to software version G920PVPU2BOFE and Galaxy S6 edge will be upgraded to software version G925PVPU2BOFE starting July 13.

Sprint is updating Note Edge in full version while the two smartphones will be receiving slight changes. According to Phone Arena, the new version has minor differences from its present 5.0 Lollipop version. Note Edge software was last updated to 5.0 Lollipop version in April and was originally launched with Android 4.4 KitKat last year.

Sprint didn't mention a lot of tweaks in the software update. According to Sprint official page, Note Edge will be receiving various bug fixes and enhancements.

There are only minimal changes that could be expected from Galaxy Note Edge Android 5.1 Lollipop update as most of the bug fixes are already under the hood. However, Note Edge users can observe trivial tweaks when it comes to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth management, factory reset protection, performance improvements and user interface changes.

Android Authority reports minor changes including quick setting, screen pinning and contact app enhancements, and system volume changes. Users can also expect new animations on its icons and portrait/ landscape toggle. The new software is now offering device protection so that even you lost your phone, thieves can't intrude into your phone even they factory reset it.

As expected there are still things that are not covered by the latest software upgrade. Android 5.1 is still missing on Wi-Fi calling and reboot option. Just like other updates, users will be receiving Galaxy Note Edge Android 5.1 Lollipop update by stages.

It might take some time before users receive it automatically on their smartphone. Users can manually check the latest version by going to Settings>About device>click "check for updates." Meanwhile users of the Galaxy Note 4 on Sprint will be left behind as the device is not included in the upgrade.
