Professional skateboarder Tony Hawk is reviving the old school skating series in his new installment Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 scheduled for release on September 29 for both PS4 and Xbox One gaming consoles. Release of the game for PS3 and Xbox 360 systems will be within Q4 of this year. Details of the new skateboarding video game has finally been revealed earlier this week, as well as exclusive content for PS4 and PS3 gaming consoles.
Gamespot sat down with Tony Hawk at E3 last month to talk about THPS5, and the pro skater has big plans for the skateboarding video game. The game itself is a throwback to the early original installments of the game with additional updated features. Hawk believes that THPS5 will bridge the gap between bringing back the old school skateboarding videogame, and what fans want these days.
New on the THPS5 are most notably the Multiplayer mode and the create-your-own-skatepark feature. The Multiplayer mode allows players to hang out with other players, freeskate, do missions together, or challenge other players in session. Skatepark editing also allows online sharing so other players can test them out. PlayStation exclusive content will also be available. IGN reveals the new content that feature Ratchet, Sweet Tooth, and Sackboy will be available for PS3 and PS4 systems, but will limit PS3 from the online play.
The exlusive details were first revealed on the PlayStation Blog this week by THPS5 developer Robomodo President Josh Tsui. The full gameplay trailer is posted on the blog, along with details on new features developed for the game. The game is now available for pre-order via GameStop, Best Buy, or Amazon at the suggested retail price of $59.99 for PS4, and $39.99 for PS3 since online play will not be accessible.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 will be available on September 29 for PS4 and Xbox One, and sometime in Q3 for PS3 and Xbox One systems.
