'True Detective' season 2 is not as badass as the first season. While the 4 characters could mean more viewers and more juicy episodes for some TV series, it does not apply for this series. Many critics and viewers were not that convinced with how the story is going. With these, the Season 3 seems too far from happening.
The HBO anthology series had debuted a brand new installment last month. 'True Detective' season 2 first episode introduced us to the four main characters-Ani Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams), Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch), Frank Seymon (Vince Vaughn) and Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell).
But latest reports reveal that one of the problems of the current season is the dynamic between the four characters, which is said to have been "pretty underdeveloped". But among all characters, Ani is the only character who is said to perform very well.
The second season slow is also a result of Nic Pizzolatto's crime-story plotting, which is "heavy on the ominous, portentous atmosphere, and foggy in the details." Oregon Live said that the season 2 has failed to live up fans' expectation of a greater season.
In other report from Independent, a 'Lost: Intersest' sign meant for 'True Detective' season 2 went viral on Instagram, which read, 'If you have any info as to WTF is happening this season please call : 910-337-2369910-337-2369.'
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, comedian Jason Saenz, who made the sign, told that the number "goes to a dead line, which is symbolic of the current state of the show".
This definitely hit a chord," Saenz said of his sign. "I think a lot of people are disappointed with this season."
Though the chances of 'True Detective' getting cancelled mid-season are low, it may struggle to get a third season if the number of viewers keep falling.
