Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s huge success with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge did not seem enough as the Korean titan is set to unveil their latest line of smartphones: the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus or S6 Edge Plus, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
A recent report from The Verge shared that Samsung has just announced its next product launch event. Galaxy Unpacked 2015 will take place in New York City on August 13, 2015 and set to launch the enlarged version of the company's current flagship smartphones and the latest model of the Note series.
PC advisor reports that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus was to be revealed at the IFA 2015 in Berlin alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, but was refuted after new information arrived. An update suggested that instead of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus, it would be the S6 Edge plus that will be for sale with the Note 5 phablet on August 21.
Leaked photos of Samsung's upcoming phablet and smartphone fueled the consumer's curiosity further, according to Tech Radar. This was the first time solid evidence of the rumors were presented to the public despite the uncertainty of its authenticity.
Silicon Angle wrote that the S6 plus or S6 Edge Plus won't be as exciting as the Note 5 since it's just a larger version of the non-plus versions. Regardless, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus or S6 Edge Plus' specs should be divulged to the public.
The device's super AMOLED screen is expected to be somewhere between 5.4 inches to 5.7 inches, keeping the QHD technology. It's possible that the S6 Plus may retain the Snapdragon 808 processor, but rumors suggest that it may contain Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 820 with 3 GB RAM. Like the S6 Edge, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus will have a minimum of 32GB memory.
Sadly, the smartphone will neither have a microSD port nor a removable battery. The cameras, both front and rear, will remain the same. The expected price tag for this upsized smartphone is a whopping $1100.
All questions and uncertainties about the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus will be answered during the Galaxy Unpacked Event on August 13, 2015 in New York City.
