Recent information suggest that Apple's iPad Air 3, along with two other tablets, will be released to the public by this fall.

The iPad Air 3's rumored release is consistent with Apple's release schedule according to Gospel Herald. The company announced the iPad Air 2 on October 16, 2014 at Apple's Cupertino campus in California. The iPad Air 1 was made public on the 22nd of October, 2013.

With the iOS 9's recent announcement, the iPad Air 3 might arrive with the new operating system. According to Christian today, instead of the iOS 8 found in iPad Air 2, the iPad Air 3 will have the upgrade operating system. The iOS 9 operating system was announced over a month ago at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference 2015 at San Francisco with its release scheduled this September.

MacWorld reported about unique features the iOS 9 has to offer.

The "slide over" feature helps with switching between different apps without closing one. Not much on multitasking and more on rapid switches between apps, useful for quick peeks on favourite social media apps.

"Split View" feature allows the user to divide the screen, allowing for two apps to function simultaneously. Multitasking can now be achieved as half the screen is on Safari and Note on the other.

Users can now watch videos without interruptions, even when using apps in the background. The "Picture in Picture" feature allows any video to play even when the user navigates and opens other apps.

"QuickType" feature is as the name implies. All basic typing functions such as copy/paste, adding attachment, etc. are all conveniently located above the QuickType keyboard as a Shortcut Bar. In addition, the iPad's touchscreen can now function as a track pad which helps in highlighting more texts at a time.

When it comes to the tablet's hardware specs, recent reports stated that the iPad Air 3 will have the A9 or A9X chipset with 3 GB of RAM instead of the iPad Air 2's A8X 64-bit processor with 2 GB RAM. The upgrade in processing speed allows for full utilization of the multitasking features of the new iOS 9.

Other than the upgrade in processing speed, the iPad Air 3 will sport the same 6.1 mm thin body with the same 9.7 inch display screen like the previous generation.

Previous reports revealed the basic price of the new iPad Air 3, with 16 GB, will start at $499. The iPad Air 2 will drop $99 off the original release price. More details yet to come.
