Samsung has recently announced the "Galaxy Unpacked 2015" event at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, New York, USA where the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ make their official debut. While most rumor-mongers focused their attention at the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ gained a few leaks as well. Despite the scheduled release, recent hearsay of a home-brew chipset and 4 GB RAM has emerged.
According to GSM arena, previously established facts about the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will all be for naught. The Geekbench entry stipulated that the smartphone's chipset is Samsung's home-brewed Exynos 7420, but with 4 GB RAM. The Exynos 7420 is the same chipset found on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The Galaxy Note 5, however, will sport the Exynos 7422.
Though lacking in solid evidence, rumors from Vietnam seemed to mention the same date regarding the smartphone's chipset and RAM. Speculations about Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 chipset for the Galaxy S6 Edge+, now seemed obsolete. Regardless, this information should be taken with pinch of salt.
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is said to sport a Quad HD (1440 x 2560) resolution display, according to Phone arena. Further on the report stated a 16 megapixel main camera, 3700 mAh batter, and 32 GB storage memory. As mentioned in the past, the phone's storage is non-expandable.
Recent information stated that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will have a 5.7 inch display, the same as the Galaxy Note 5. Both of the highly anticipated smartphones were reported to have technical similarities except for the S-Pen and Exynos 7422 chipset on the Note 5.
Other rumors indicated a price tag of $880 and a launch date on August 21 for the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Another detail that readers should tread lightly on.
The "Galaxy Unpacked" event on August 13 should provide official statements to help settle all questions and confusion. Keep posted for more news on Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge+.
