For a while, consumers could only speculate on a release date for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. These rumors also included the Galaxy S6 Edge +, the phablet version of the Galaxy S6 Edge, and the Gear A Smartwatch. With the "Galaxy Unpacked 2015" event set in stone on August 13, the much awaited Samsung devices will finally revealed.
Over the past few weeks, previous gossip on the internet suggested that the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will have an early release in August. These hearsay claimed that Samsung's early reveal of the new flagship devices will boost sales against Apple's iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus - which will be released by September.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5, originally known as "Project Noble", was the subject of scrutiny by rumor-mongers all over planet internet. A report from MNR Daily divulged the phablet to have a 5.7-inch super AMOLED QHD (2560x1440p) display. The Galaxy Note 5 is said to sport Samsung's very own Exynos 7422 system on chip (SoC), along with a 4 GB RAM. It offers 32 GB of built in data storage, and houses a microSD card slot for extra storage. Runs on Android's 5.1.1 Lollipop and sports a manually ejected S Pen stylus.
Codename "Project Zen" was initially the "alias" for the Galaxy S6 Plus during start of the rumor-fest. As more speculations emerged, the smartphone's identity was revealed - Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. Android Geeks reported that the phablet version of the Galaxy S6 Edge is much alike with the Galaxy Note 5. A few distinction of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ would include; the edged screen, the less powerful Exynos 7420 SoC, 3 GB for RAM, and the absence of the S Pen.
The latest flagship phones from Samsung is said to be revealed on the "Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2015" with the Gear A Smartwatch to be probably featured as well. This was first revealed by Samsung a few days ago at the Tizen Developer Summit in Bangalore, India, as reported on Android Authority. The device is known to run on the latest Tizen 2.3.1 OS and features a round display with 360 x 360 pixel resolution.
Rumored specs of the Gear A Smartwatch include a dual-core Exynos 3472 SoC, 768MB RAM, 4GB of storage, a small 250mAh battery, a heart rate monitor, GPS and barometer sensors, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.
