'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' may be scheduled for release on June 3, 2016 but fans have been getting their dose of new video leaks online showing fights between heroes and villains. Stephen Amell's Casey Jones is also revealed to have a different origin in the upcoming film.
According to Movie Pilot, Amell will play Casey Jones in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' - the vigilante sporting a hockey mask with various sports clubs as weapons and is the character April O'Neil's love interest in the comic books. Several new additions to the cast will also be featured including villains Bebop and Rocksteady.
In an article by IBTimes, several new videos have been leaked online giving waiting audiences a peek at what the movie may have in store. The clips, uploaded by an Amell fan, showed various fight scenes including Casey saving April from the wicked ninjutsu Foot Clan, Casey trying to attack the Ninja turtles and even glimpses of ninjas jumping off buildings.
Casey is one of the new characters introduced in the film series although Amell revealed that the character will have a different origin story from the original franchise. In an interview with IGN, the Canadian actor opened up about what changes the fans should expect to see from the masked vigilante.
He said, "It's certainly not your father's or your younger self's Casey Jones, but that's because we meet him at a very different time in his development... He is not the Casey Jones that a lot of comic fans have come to know and love.
He is a guy with a job that lives in New York and loves hockey. When things go awry, [and] when he goes through the normal methods of what someone would do when they're [a] law-abiding citizen and he's met with laughter and scorn... he decides to take things into his own hands."
'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' is the sequel to the 2014 box office success. The first film grossed $485 million against a $125 million budget according to Box Office Mojo and became one of Nickolodeon Movies' highest grossing films to date.
