Last week, a Chinese website has leaked an internal document, where it gives initial details on the purported Samsung Galaxy S7, Codenamed "Jungfrau". The leaked document suggests that it may come equipped with a Snapgragon 820.
According to Latinopost, the Samsung Galaxy S7 leaked document, Jungfrau is recorded as the "hero" device, with "Add [MSM8996]" noted on the same line below a caption "[M] Upgrade Plan." MSM8996 was reported as the device Codename for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. Moreover, there is another reported variant of the Galaxy S7 that is speculated to run on a new Samsung-made Exynos system on a chip.
On top of that, it is said that the Galaxy S7 could be seen having a faster development phase, since Jungfrau has been reportedly already doing the Android M update even before the last quarter of the year.
The Snapdragon 820 is the Qualcomm's newest chipset. It will reportedly utilize Qualcomm's own custom-designed Kryo cores. Moreover, the company also stated that Kryo will be a 64-bit ARM chip, which means that this will be well-matched with the ARMv8 instruction set.
The Snapdragon 820 chip also introduces the New zeroth platform from Qualcomm that has been allegedly revealed at MWC. This guarantees to serve as a cognitive computing platform where it can perform anticipations of users' needs and actions in advance. During the event of MWC, the company has demonstrated a smartphone camera that was able to recognize users and tag their names automatically.
The Android Guys reported that Samsung may release two variants of the Galaxy S7.One is an Exynos version and the other one is a Snapdragon version. The Company reportedly performed this before, since the leaks unveil l the Snapdragon 820, it indicates that it may dominate the Exynos 7420 in standards.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 release date is reportedly still far off. However, the South Korean Giant will finally unveil their Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus flagships on August 13 at Samsung's Unpacked event.
