Sony Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) devices are currently receiving the Android 5.1.1 update. The generic firmware is now available in several regions including Brazil, Hong Kong, Middle East, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia and USA.

The Analogindex reports that the update which transfers the Xperia Z3 Dual to build number 23.4.A.0.546, is reportedly having its wide-range availability. However, according to some users, the USSD codes are reported not working.

Based on the observation of an XDA forum member, the USSD allegedly doesn't function and the said icons clatters to date on the notification bar. It is claimed that 4G icons acquire a lot of space as well.

The update escalates the build number to 23.4.A.0.580 from 546 based, but this only has a similar Android Lollipop version -5.1.1. Presently the firmware lives for Z3 Compact (D5803,) Xperia Z3 (D6603), and Z2 (D6503) in regions including Vodafone and Three Ausasetria and subscribers in the UK and Spain, IBtimes reports.

As reported by Yahoo, its battery standby has reportedly enhanced after the update, together with working animations without mobile data and lag. The new firmware update with patches rolled out by Sony is intended for the previously discovered Stagefright vulnerability for its Xperia series handsets.

This patch updates all the 35 stagefright libraries to the latest version from the Stock Sony 23.4.A.0.580 ROM - 2015-08-12. Also, it has a 2.6MB in size, IBtimes wrote. The site also added that this patch must reportedly operate for all the Z-series that are already on v5.1.1 Lollipop and possibly with some other newer Sony devices since they normally have similar libraries.

A review from Jozinek, the familiar XDA developer, shared that a new launcher feature allows users to switch the icon size from smaller version said to be offered by the update. The Z3 Dual model can now acquire the feature of home-screen rotation feature that was limited to a few Sony handsets before, Yahoo reported.

Other reported information stated that the sound setting in Priority Mode is rumoured to come improved than the previous Android Lollipop version 5.0.2. The camera was also reported working faster. As for its manual installation, the users may refer to the FTF links for the OTA that has been captured by the forum members.
