At the D23 Expo that happened over the weekend, Shinji Hashimoto, together with Kaori Takuse, and Larry Sparks of Square Enix, have announced that the beloved character in Big Hero 6, who is none other than Baymax, will be coming soon in Kingdom Hearts 3. Sora will now be able to partner up with Baymax, become his friend, and fight against the enemies.
Hashimoto noted at the recently held expo that the made-up city of San Fransokyo, together with the lovable characters from Big Hero 6, is a perfect fit for Kingdom Hearts. He showed the expo guests a concept art of Sora where she was riding Baymax's back while flying over San Fransokyo. It seems like their tandem is about to battle the dark version of Baymax, as reported in Polygon.
Apparently, there will be a lot of surprises awaiting the players who are excited to play Kingdom Hearts 3. Forbes quotes film producer, Ray Conli, saying, "Big Hero 6 is such a special film for me, and we always made sure that each action sequence had a very special meaning." He also adds that Big Hero 6 and Kingdom Hearts' themes are similar in some ways too, as they both tackle on the importance of friendship, and finding light in a time of darkness.
As of the moment, Tangled and Big Hero 6 are the only ones that are confirmed now as new worlds in Kingdom Hearts 3. Disney and Square Enix hasn't announced yet what the final preparations they are doing for Kingdom Hearts 3.
In other news, aside from the announcements made about Kingdom Hearts 3 at the D23 Expo, a few details were also brought out in the open about Disney Infinity 3.0. Entertainment Weekly shares that the Disney Infinity 3.0 Force Awakens playset was unveiled by Star Wars film stars, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega at the weekend expo. The actors went on stage to show the audience the playset figures based on their characters, Rey and Finn.
Currently, there is still no official announcements yet regarding the release date of Kingdom Hearts 3, but Disney Infinity 3.0 will be available this coming August 30, on iOS and Android devices, and also on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Windows PC platforms.
