'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' will feature the mutants Bebop and Rocksteady. Wrestler CM Punk lost the role of Rocksteady to fellow WWE Star Sheamus Farrelly. The film's cast and crew have also recently wrapped up production and is set to begin post-production.
According to Cinema Blend, the upcoming film may include scenes where Shredder's once human minions will mutate into their full warthog and rhino forms respectively. Dave Green's live-action adaptation of the popular children's cartoon will have Gary Anthony Williams and Stephen "Sheamus" Farrelly filling out the roles of Foot Clan leader Shredder's henchmen. The two characters are mainstay villains in the 1987 cartoon series as well as the 'Archie TMNT Adventures' comics.
In an article by the Chicago Tribune, retired professional wrestler and aspiring mixed martial artist Phillip Jack "Phil" Brookes, otherwise known as CM Punk, also auditioned for Rocksteady but the role eventually went to Irishman Sheamus Farrelly. He said, "I just assumed he's a bigger dude, so they gave it to the big guy... It makes sense. They were looking for two big, muscly bouncer types. (Sheamus) fits the role."
Principal photography for 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' was recently concluded, according to Movie Web, and the teams are moving forward to post-production. Returning stars include Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michaelangelo, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo and Jeremy Howard as Donatello. The character Casey Jones will be introduced in the sequel and will be played by Stephen Amell of the hit TV series 'Arrow'.
'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' is a follow-up of 2014's film to be released on June 3, 2016. The first film was produced by Nickelodeon Movies and director Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes. It grossed a staggering $485 million against a $125 million budget according to Box Office Mojo despite the film's generally negative reviews.
