LG is not after all skipping the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update after a few rounds in the rumor mill that it has no plans of releasing the final Lollipop software to its phone jumping straight to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Verizon Wireless has in its hands the answer as the U.S mobile carrier is rolling out now live the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to LG G Vista handsets. Through a PDF document file released by Verizon on its website, the new Lollipop update's software version will now be VS88023A.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update brings improvements in home touch button, lock screen notifications, smart lock, shade lock, interruptions, floating action button (FAB), screen pinning, search settings, Wi-Fi connections, and a few Android security patches.

In home touch button, its design has been made new to mix and match with the Lollipop flair. Menu can also be accessed press-holding the Recent button.

Notification messages on lock screen can be set how they will appear or display. When changing to any secure screen lock setting, device will pop up notification options or preferences. 'Hide sensitive only' option could no longer be accessed when it is set to None or Swipe screen lock.

Under the lock screen, Smart Lock can be turned on in Settings. This feature allows users to add trusted devices to communicate with G Vista without having to manually unlock the device.

In shade lock, notification list will roll down in three conditions: by setting "Show all notifications," by taping "More" section, and by swiping down the notification cards. Users have to unlock first the device when "Hide sensitive only" mode is set before seeing the whole list of notification.

Interruption has got a few enhancements. This feature lets users regulate which notifications and alarms device will display or sound. "None" will stop device from playing all types of notifications including alarms. "Priority" allows users to set which apps and calendar event and notifications on display. "All" allows all notifications to display.

This feature as well is mapped to sound toggle button on Quick settings. "Ongoing notifications" will display when "Priority only" or "No interruptions" mode is chosen. By tapping this one, it will direct the device to interruptions settings screen. "Separated button" meanwhile is provided in Quick Settings.

Floating action button is the new feature to promote key action for apps like adding or composing new item. This feature can be used for Contacts, Email, Music, and Alarm/Clock apps.

Screen pinning lets users to lock device to a single app. By holding the Back and Recent buttons simultaneously will unpin the app. Settings are now searchable.

The Advanced Wi-Fi option has the new "Avoid bad Wi-Fi connections." This works when Wi-Fi signal gets weak, device will automatically connect to a mobile network for a smooth user experience.
