"Chicago P.D." season 3 might see Ruzek and Burges breaking off their engagement as the former regrets his decision of proposing. The intra-office couple might not be having a great season 3 despite their kissy and lovey-dovey scenes last season.

According to Fashion & Style, Ruzek, played by Patrick John Flueger, feels like he rushed into the proposal. In season 2, Ruzek and Burgess had a rough time as their romance was kept a secret.

Executive Producer Matt Olmstead gave some hints about this plot line for season 3 in a recent interview. He shared, "What Burgess begins to realize is ... as opposed to really wanting to get married, he's getting a buzz off being engaged. People buy you drinks, you get the attention, but when it comes to actually picking out the font for the save-the-date cards, he's not that interested."

Meanwhile, Inquisitr reported that Lindsay will not be back in her position immediately during the September 30 premiere of "Chicago P.D." season 3. According to the publication, in the season 2 finale, Lindsay was seen heading to a dark path after her friend Nadia died.

Olmstead shared that Lindsay, considered as the champion by Halstead, has walked away from her job so there is a lot of self-loathing and does not want to come back as it will be her easy way out. However, in the preview released, she doesn't have a choice but to come back to work because Halstead was abducted.

Despite getting back on the job sometime in "Chicago P.D." season 3, Christian Today reported that things go downhill from there. In the teaser trailer, Halstead is seen being badly beaten while Lindsay gets thrown into a glass table. Sophia Bush, the actress portraying the role of Lindsay, talked about the season 3 teaser, "At the end of the day, they're partners. They have a simpatico and they have a connection that is really meaningful. As she's coming back, she's going to have to put in time with each of the people in her unit to prove that she's showing up in the right ways."

"Chicago P.D." season 3 will be seeing Ruzek and Burgess having second thoughts about their engagement while Lindsay will have to go back to her job as Halstead gets kidnapped. The NBC show will be back on September 30.
