"Wayward Pines" Season 2 has not been given a chance by the FOX network series but in a recent interview with director M. Night Shyamalan, he teased that there is a possibility for more episodes.
According to Vine Report, the ratings was very high in the first installment of the series that is why fans were shocked that it was not given a greenlight for season 2. The series was also one of the "Summer TV" winners. The publication also recapped that the season 1 of "Wayward Pines" saw Ethan sacrificing himself for his son and the rest of the town after he was killed by the Abbies. Three years after, Ben Burkes wakes up from his comatose and find out that Jason is controlling the place.
According to Christian Post, Shyamalan shared that he is talking with the author in order to adapt more of the story into the small screen. The director said, "I've been talking with the author. I need to know the end. I'm working with the writers. If I can think of an end and work backwards then I'll do it. In TV I need to know there is an end point."
When asked why a season 2 could be possible even after it was revealed before that the season 1 finale did not mean that there was more, Shyamalan shared, "The show became the number one scripted show of the summer. It was a giant hit and everyone started asking are you going to do a second season," International Business Times shared.
Fox has also recently announced that they are considering Season 2 for the series. Shyamalan reassured fans that he and author Blake Crouch made a pact saying that if they will do something more, they would approach it with a very high level of integrity.
Director M. Night Shyamalan has teased that there could be a season 2 for "Wayward Pines" after Fox announced that they are reconsidering it. Shyamalan is currently working on "The Last Airbender's" sequel so it remains unknown when the show will be coming back or if a second season will really be made.
