Peter Dinklage, who plays as Tyrion Lannister in the HBO drama series "Game of Thrones" hit the Outstanding Supporting Actor award for the second time around in the Emmy's. As he previously claimed, he was not ready when his name was called as the winner.

Dinklage revealed that he was chewing a gum when he heard his name being called on stage. Upon learning that he won, he was caught off-guard and kissed his wife twice. "I wasn't prepared at all," Dinklage begins his speech. "I was even chewing gum." His recent claim made round on the internet if he spit the gum to his wife, theatre director Erica Schmidt when he kissed her, according to USA Today. Schmidt, 40, was spotted putting her hands to get his chewing gum.

It was not the first time Dinklage won the Outstanding Supporting Actor award in the Emmy's. Since he started with the HBO series in 2011, he was nominated the same year and brought home the award. Since then, 46-year-old has been nominated yearly on the same category, EW reports.

During his speech, the actor expressed his gratefulness to the authors of the series including, D.B. Weiss George, R.R. Martin and David Benioff. Dinklage rose above among other contenders that include Ben Mendelsohn for "Bloodline," Jonathan Banks for "Better Call Saul," Jim Carter for "Downton Abbey," Alan Cumming for "The Good Wife" and Michael Kelly for "House of Cards."

Dinklage was one of the actors, who helped the series slammed on most Emmy awards for the year, Daily Mail reports. All together, "Game of Thrones" gathered four trophies, including David Nutter for direction, David Benioff and Dan Weiss for writing and Outstanding Drama for the series.

In "Game of Thrones" season 5, Dinklage told in an interview that his character as Tyrion Lannister had a changed of heart. "I don't think he's as arrogant as he used to be," Dinklage said. "He's always had compassion, his heart has been in the right place. But I think his arrogance has been diminished due to his terrible circumstances. He's kinder, even though he's a murderer."

"Game of Thrones" will be slated to return in April 2016. Dinklage hasn't returned to comment on the viral spit chewing gum spitting he's had done during the awards night.
