After the financial success of the "Conjuring" horror film, the sequel movie has reportedly begun filming this week. Some photos on the social media of the movie director have confirmed that the team started the development of the upcoming "The Conjuring 2".
On Tuesday, Director James Wan shared a photo on his Instagram account signalling the first day of production for his next project. The caption of the photo says "First day of principal photography. Fogbound backyard inside soundstage. #Conjuring2". That same day, he shared another post on Facebook confirming that the filming did not just start as it is but, they have called for an actual exorcist to bless the set.
"Yes, we actually had a priest to bless our set on the first day of shooting Conjuring 2!!" he stated.
While the shooting is already rolling, two names of new characters are bound to join the sequel franchise. Deadline reported that an Australian star, Lauren Esposito will be joining the casts. However, her character's role has been kept concealed. In the report, she has been into an arduous audition process before she was chosen. The search took place in the US, England and Australia.
In addition to the casts, another name has been included in the list. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Madison Wolfe (True Detective, The Astronauts' Wives Club), a busy young Hollywood actress, has signed the leading role in "The Conjuring 2". Wolfe will portray a girl who is in desperate need of help with her haunting experiences.
The Conjuring 2 will pick up on the based-on-truth journeys of Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine (Vera Farmiga), paranormal investigators, who will take on The Enfield Poltergeist. It involves a single mother with her four children from Enfield, England who are experiencing haunting from 1977 to 1979.
Unlike the spinoff film (Anabelle) of the first movie, "The Conjuring 2" is based on a "true" case. Sources say that the shooting takes place in Los Angeles and London.
