"Castle" season 8 premiered on Monday with an episode entitled "XY" showing Kate Beckett being kidnapped and in the second episode, it will be revealed that Kate lied to Rick as she wanted to protect him. Hayley, the new character, will reportedly bring sass and wit in the show's upcoming episodes.
According to Design and Trend, "XX" will be the title of the second episode and as opposed to the premiere episode being shown via the perspective of Rick, it will be via Kate's viewpoint. The synopsis for the second episode was recently released and it revealed why and how Kate disappeared.
Kate received a call from someone from her past and she had no choice but to fight for her life. In the teaser trailer recently released, Rick confronts Kate about her disappearance. In the video, Rick was heard saying, "You looked me right in the eye and you lied to me." Kate then replied that she did what she had to in order to protect him, International Business Times revealed.
The publication added that other scenes from "XY" will be shown in "XX." It was seen in season 8 episode 1 that Rick visited the prison and found out that Kate met with Senator William Bracken secretly. Bracken was responsible in the killing of Kate's mother. Although there was nothing that the senator shared to Rick, episode 2 will show what Kate and the senator talked about.
Meanwhile, The Christian Post reported that the character of Hayley (played by Toks Olagundoye) will be bringing sass and wit in this season of "Castle." Olagundoye shared in a recent interview, "I would have resented, after 21 years as an actor, to be brought on a show simply to be somebody's romantic interest. You know, Hayley's an interesting sort - her dynamic doesn't really change with anyone. She's her own brand of sassy and sarcastic. She's witty, she doesn't put up with nonsense from anyone."
"Castle" Season 8 episode 2 will show Kate lying to Rick in order to protect him. Rick also discovered Kate secretly visiting the imprisoned senator who killed her mother. The ABC series airs Mondays at 10 P.M.
