HTC One M8, One M9, One Desire EYE & More Devices Bound for Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Sense 7.0

A well-known leakster took Twitter today that HTC will be releasing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow alongside its very own Sense 7.0. Qualified phones for the much-awaited upgrade are One M9, One M8, Desire EYE, and several other variants.

Android tipster LlabTooFeR has posted on his Twitter account that HTC is set to release the upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow update along with its native user interface Sense 7.0 to a laundry list of phones. The tipster, who is also behind the successful Maximus HD ROM, revealed a list of eligible devices of HTC to get a sweet treat from Marshmallow.

According to LlabTooFeR, HTC will be releasing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software to the following devices:

  • Desire EYE
  • Desire 816
  • Desire 820
  • Desire 826
  • One M8
  • One M8s
  • One M8 EYE
  • One E8
  • One M9
  • One M9+
  • One ME
  • One E9
  • One E9+
  • Butterfly 2
  • Butterfly

However, in the follow-up tweet of the tipster, he underscored that the list is preliminary. He added that some HTC devices might be disqualified from the update due to internal storage issues, particularly the Desire 816. So far, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer has confirmed the release to HTC One M9 and One M9+.

Alongside Sense 7.0 , Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring new useful features and improvements, including a new battery manager, app links, fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C support, and app permissions, among others.

A battery saver called Doze is the new addition to Android expected to manage wisely battery usage of a device. Doze automatically turns on whenever necessary. It will terminate apps running in the background and idle ones whenever unintentionally opened.

The apps permission has been improved to become more convenient for users. It has more controls to enable users access apps directly from his current location.

The app drawer now has a search bar to easily locate apps, games, files, etc. stored in the phone and launch them. The scroll bar is also back on the drawer.

App links will enable users to be redirected to a link's site by just clicking it. Custom Chrome tabs will track site visits. It also has more options for color, themes, fonts, and more.
