Elementary Season 4 Spoilers: Sherlock loses NYPD job; Reunites with estranged father

By

The Season 3 finale of Elementary saw Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) suffering a relapse in his recovery from drug addiction. In the new season premiere, Sherlock will have to deal with the consequences of the relapse and come face-to-face with his father Morland Holmes (John Noble).

Sherlock will not appreciate his father's appearance and the attention the senior Holmes will be showering him. EP Rob Doherty in an interview with Inquisitr says, "For him, it's too little too late. This is a father and a son with a very complicated history. I'd say for at least a couple decades, Sherlock's father has been out of sight, out of mind. This is going to be a big adjustment for Sherlock to have dad nearby".

Design n Trend reveals that Sherlock and Joan will find themselves out of jobs with the NYPD when the fourth season starts since Sherlock is still in trouble after beating up Oscar in last season's finale. Same report says that viewers will learn more about Joan's background and her family's dynamics which is turning out to be as complicated as Sherlock's.

It was also revealed by Christian Post that Sherlock's first case for the new season will bring back Jonathan Bloom (played by guest star Patrick Page) who appeared in last season's finale. Doherty described him as, "a man with an unsavory history of preying on desperate women who then disappear." In the episode however, he will ask the help of Sherlock in proving him innocent of his wife's disappearance five years earlier.

Shohreh Aghdashloo will be guest starring in episode 3 as Donya Esfandiari, an associate of Morland.

Season 4 will take off one day after Joan tells Sherlock that his father was en route to New York upon learning of the sleuth's relapse. It premiers on November 5 on CBS.
