‘Bridge of Spies’ Movie Updates: 2 new short clips unveiled; Tom Hanks faces daunting task as James Donnovan

Less than a week to go before the premiere night of the upcoming Steve Spielberg "Bridge of Spies" movie, details about the movie has already been unveiled. Two new short video clips were released.

The two clips consisted of a one-minute video taken from the film. Entertainment Weekly indicated that the first clip showed Donovan's two associates (Alan Alda and Michael Gaston) offering him a challenge. He perplexed when he was presented with the demoralizing task of defending Rudolf Abel.

Later on, his wife (Amy Ryan) will ask him "Do you know how people will look at us, the family of a man trying to free a traitor?" while he attempts to keep the challenge from her.

James Donovan in the story will be role played by the renowned award-winning actor, Tom Hanks alongside the three-time Academy Award winning filmmaker Steve Spielberg. According to Yahoo! UK, this won't be their first movie together. But, it will notably be their fourth film following the "Saving Private Ryan", "Catch Me If You Can", and "The Terminal".

When asked what the best part of working together is, Hanks admittedly stated, "you don't have the pain of that first 'getting to know you' day."

Aside from Hanks, Gaston, Alda and Ryan, Broadway World noted that another award-winning actor, Mark Rylance, will play as Rudolf Abel. Scott Shepherd who will be the CIA Hoffman, Sebastian Koch as attorney Vogel will also be joining them. Matt Charman, Ethan Coen and Joel Coen will be in the screenplay.

"Bridges of Spies" is a story about a Brooklyn Lawyer (James Donovan) who was shoved in the middle of the Cold War as a negotiator for the release of an American U-2 pilot captive (Rudolf Abel). But with the decision of saving the Soviet agent, he and his family may face danger and public humiliation.

Before the scheduled release in the cinemas on October 16, "Bridge of Spies" will be having its world screening at New York Film Festival October 4. But, how will Tom Hanks' character role handle the daunting challenge he was up to?
