'American Horror Story: Hotel': Wes Bentley, Max Greenfield Deliver Eerie Performances in First Sneak Peek

By

The first official sneak peek of "American Horror Story: Hotel" has finally arrived. FX has released the first scene of the season on Tuesday, after airing an all new episode of "Scream Queens". As expected, the brief 30-second clip was nothing but creepy, assuring the followers of the popular FX anthology a spine-chilling experience.

As seen on the video shared by Vanity Fair, the sneak peek featured Wes Bentley and Max Greenfield’s characters on the Hotel-themed season. The opening scene saw Bentley feeling the vibe of a room he’s checked-in inside Hotel Cortez. Later, the camera followed his every move as he slowly lied down on the bed. What occurred next is probably where viewers will get their first unapologetic scream. Scored with the signature beat of AHS, the scene took our eyes very slowly under the bed – building to the right momentum of the big reveal – when suddenly, Max Greenfield’s disoriented character makes a shocking appearance.

While the show doesn’t premiere until Oct. 7, MTV shared an interesting theory that fans can ponder on as they count the days. “What does it all mean? We know Bentley plays a detective who checks in The Countess’ Hotel Cortez to investigate a string of grisly murders, but we can’t imagine he was expecting to find an addict under his bed. Was Greenfield’s character, a troubled junkie, hiding from the addiction demon?,” the publication wrote.

On the heels of the hotly-awaited release, Entertainment Weekly writer Tim Stack offered a scoop about the trailer. On his Twitter account, he wrote: “That @AHSFX sneak peak was from the first two episodes and featured Wes Bentley and @iamgreenfield inside very pivotal Rm 64. #AHSHotel.”

This new development for the star-studded season is only one of the many exciting pieces of the puzzle Ryan Murphy had set-up for months. With Lady Gaga as The Countess, there’s no doubt that more bombs will be dropped as FX unfold the new bunch of dark episodes.
