Since "Wolverine 3" is being developed, Hugh Jackman has signed for another contract to reprise his role as Wolverine. However, Jackman revealed lately that this would be the last time he would play the role.
Jackman revealed to an interview with Collider that the third installment is halfway through the draft. He reiterated that the script is not fully complete. "I'll be really honest with you, the actual script in its full form we're up to about Page 60. Obviously there's a treatment, so it's not fully done yet, we're not fully there," he said.
The story will burrow the relationship of Wolverine with Professor X. So this may flashback to the first time Professor X found and mentored Wolverine. "I think it's a really important relationship but I want to see signs of that quasi-father/son sort of relationship that has not been seen before, and sides of particularly Professor X that have not been seen before. So we have some really, really cool ideas," he revealed.
Moreover, he admitted that he told the crew he will start filming once the script has been completed. Movie News Guide reported that he promised for a great "Wolverine" movie when it comes out. Alongside him, Patrick Stewart will be role playing as Professor Xavier. Being a mentor and a friend to Logan, the approach would certainly be intriguing.
In an article on Cinema Blend, Wolverine might have some other X-Men characters accompanying him in the "Wolverine 3". First on the list is the character of Rogue. In the previous X-Men movies, Logan acted as her informal big brother. Although it was not sure whether Rogue will be appearing in the movie, Anna Paquin, actress who played Rogue before, has confirmed that she won't be reprising her role in Gambit. However, chances would say that she might be seen in "Wolverine 3".
The report also said that Omega Red, the Russian antagonist experimented by KGB, might be one of Logan's enemies. While Jean will unlikely be seen, Wolverine's rival (Cyclops) with Jean may take her place instead. And lastly, speculations say that X-23 (Wolverine's clone) and Sabretooth will be joining in "Wolverine 3".
"Wolverine 3" is supposed to be directed by James Mangold. With this being Jackman's last Wolverine, they might make the most out of it.
