Garry Marshall is making another holiday-themed comedy drama. Reports say the filming has started. However, a new character has recently been reported to be joining the "Mother's Day" movie.

Getting ready for a release on April, Deadline confirmed that a new character has been added to the list of stars. Sarah Chalke, best known as Stella Zinman on the CBS' How I Met Your Mother and Dr. Elliot Reid on NBC's Scrubs, has signed for a role in Marshall's comedy film. She was also featured as Beth on Rick and Morty.

Aside from Chalke, Empire listed the cast that has already been included in the upcoming franchise film. She will be joining Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Jason Sudeikis, Timothy Olyphant, Margo Martindale, Shay Mitchell, Britt Robertson, Jack Whitehall, Aasif Mandvi, Ella Anderson and Loni Love.

According to an article on Patch, the team has spotted shooting in Atlanta. It was also confirmed that the Dunwoody Tavern will be temporarily closed in two days, Tuesday and Wednesday (September 29 and 30), while Julia Roberts is shooting.

Sources say that the production team was in call for extras to be the bartenders and patrons. Moreover, Kate Hudson was also spotted in Decatur last week. The shooting has started since August in metro Atlanta.

In the movie, Chalke will play the role as Gabi. She will be Max's (Cameron Esposito) wife and a mom who tries to figure out how to raise her son. Further details have not been revealed as of now. But hearing Marshall's name sitting at the director's chair, this may be one of his inspirational movies. Sources say "Mother's Day" movie will follow the entwined life stories of the mothers as their holiday approaches.

Garry Marshall's "Mother's Day" is just one of his wonderful projects like the "New Year's Eve", "Valentine's Day" and "Pretty Woman". Stay tuned for more updates.
