"Game of Thrones" is filming the sixth season of the TV series. However, a movie adaptation to be produced by HBO has been buzzing up the social media.
According to George R.R Martin, the creator and author of the "Game of Thrones" book, there would be a movie adaptation of his book. He confirmed in The Week that he won't be involved in the movie. "There will be a movie but I will not be involved," he said. He also explained that he is so busy with a lot of stuff. But, he said that HBO, D.B. and David are the ones dealing with it.
With HBO doing the movie adaptation series of "Game of Thrones", it may be an enormous project. In a report on the Daily Star, R.R Martin revealed that the movie may be something more than just a bigger scale. It could feature a back story to revive the long-dead major characters such as Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, Oberyn Martell, The Red Viper and Ned Stark.
"They are looking at dipping back in time during certain periods of the series, which could be examined as a one off plot," he said. "That means that some of the big characters who fans have seen die on screen could be resurrected."
However, the latest report indicated that R.R Martin has shut down all his previous comments. Collider said he may have spoken too soon. When he was asked again if there would really be a movie adaptation, he dismissed the question saying that no one is handling on any movie project. But, if there would be one in the future, it would unlikely be about Robert's Rebellion.
In some reports, "Game of Thrones" might possibly end after season 8. Sources say it might likely have its series-ending in a movie instead. So, they said the idea might likely work as the audiences will get to witness the season finale of "Game of Thrones" in big screens.
However, HBO insisted that the TV series won't end up with a movie unless they change their minds. If ever there would be a movie adaptation of "Game of Thrones", they might start the production after the eighth season.
