The Nexus pioneer phones will start to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update next week. These smartphones are the 2013 Nexus 5, 6, 7 and Nexus 9.
The biggest search engine company unveiled the final version of Android Marshmallow during its recent event. It has also launched its flagship smartphones LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P, which will come out of the box with the latest operating system made by Google.
BGR said on its report that the final Marshmallow release will be available to users on October 5th. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be rolled out to Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 9. In addition Marshmallow code will also be pushed to AOSP on the same date.
According to Android Police, the Marshmallow upgrade will be just like the other Android updates, which is expected to have a slow process if the users will wait over-the-air. The update ZIP will probably be located quickly, which will allow the Android phone users to manually update. In addition, there will also be factory images accessible if the handlers need to flash back to stock or are rooted.
AndroidPIT reported the newest update made by Android will bring enhancement to the smartphones, one of which is the app permission wherein users may choose to accept or deny individual permissions on the applications. Another improvement is the web experience, Google has been discovering trends in the way web content is consumed to provide a better user experience when interrelating with websites and apps.
The fingerprint support was also enhanced as Google standardize support for the finger print scanners on smartphones running Android M. The newest operating system also made the mobile payment possible. Android pay is Google's new mobile payments system, created to make the checkout process easier and faster than ever.
Another feature is the app links; this improvement was made so Android will have greater awareness of which apps can open contents directly, instead of preventing users every time with the dialog box. Lastly, the power and charging, the Android M will provide up to twice as much standby time and it also supports USB Type-C, which provides faster charging.
As Android M will be launched in some Nexus pioneer phones next week, the mentioned improvements are expected to be seen once the device is already updated. Although, the rolling out of the newest OS will be slow over-the-air, the Nexus phone users can still try to update using ZIP.
