'Ip Man 3' Update: Donnie Yen vs. Mike Tyson in film's teaser trailer; Bruce Lee to appear in CGI form

By

It seems that Donnie Yen will be up against an entirely new challenge in the upcoming "Ip Man 3," as he faces the boxing's greatest Mike Tyson in film's teaser trailer. It is also believed that the third installment will feature the legendary Bruce Lee in CGI.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the teaser trailer released for "Ip Man 3" sees Yen's titular hero and Tyson's property developer prepare to brawl, as they try to prove who is better. The film is the third in a series based on the life of martial artist Yip Man, who was known for training the notorious martial artist Bruce Lee.

Most of the footages in the trailer come from the first two movies. Nevertheless, seeing Mike Tyson in it surely manages to pique the interest of many about this movie. /Film reported that the idea of bringing Tyson against Yen is something that is totally different, and that no matter which fighter fans may favor, it's an interesting stunt to watch.

It is worth noting that Tyson has made several random cameos for the past years, going back to James Toback's 1999 indie "Black And White," and, more recently, in the "Hangover" franchise.

Meanwhile, according to Movie Pilot, Ip Man's most notable student, Bruce Lee, will be featured in the film, thanks to CGI. The choice to do the CGI recreation was due to the fact that the studio couldn't find an actor apt to fulfill the role, although there were reports that the Lee estate attempted to halt the effort.

The forthcoming installment is likely to follow the same formula as the previous films, and people will once again see the mastermind behind the martial arts called Wing Chun. "Ip Man 3" is slated for a December 24 release date in Hong Kong, but no U.S. release date has been announced as of this writing.

Many are excited to see the former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson make his way to "Ip Man 3," especially with an impending epic battle against Donnie Yen - let alone the fact that Bruce Lee will be joining them, only in CGI form.
