The Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X are the newest flagship models from Google. These two devices will run the latest Android Marshmallow featuring great improvements and enhancements.
According to Tech Advisor, the final version of Android 6.0 will be launched on LG's Nexus 5X and Huawei's Nexus 6P when they begin shipping at the end of October. This operating system will also be accessible to other Nexus devices, and after a few months to other flagship phones and tablets.
Moreover, Expert Reviews reported about the new and enhanced features of the Android Marshmallow. One improvement is the 'Now on Tap' feature which takes Google Now across the operating system. This makes users access it pretty much wherever they are and whatever they're doing.
Another enhancement is Doze, which improves the device's battery life through a boost in its standby power. Doze is a new technology that detects when the device is not in motion and is unused and goes to a much deeper sleep and polls for updates less often. However, it is available for important incoming events such as calls or VoIP.
App permission is another new feature that Android M has and with this development, there will be a smaller, simpler set of permissions and users will be able to go in and edit them either by app or through permission type. Updates are now more seamless for apps as permissions do not require any agreements during installation.
The Android 6.0 also has support for fingerprint sensors in conjunction with a push on Android Pay. This improvement will initially let users authorize Play Store transactions and unlock their phone using the system. This enhancement also gives the user the ability to purchase items using their phones, so they don't need to take out their debit and credit cards to make faster purchases.
The latest Android version also allows users to run two apps side-by-side. This technology was previously seen on Samsung Note devices but has never been a feature in Google's own version of Android.
Tech2 further added that the latest operating system from Google implements a better copy and paste function. Another addition were the volume controls which give users a drop-down menu, a feature common in the Cyanogen OS. The new Marshmallow OS will also offer a new app drawer which can be scrolled vertically instead of horizontally and the top of the menu will show the four most recently used apps. Lastly, a new RAM Manager was introduced and aims to give users more accurate information regarding the RAM usage of apps.
As the newest version of Android will soon be released, expect better enhancements it will bring to Android devices. Unfortunately, users will have to wait as the rollout of updates will be gradual.
