With its immense success in Japan, new claims suggest that a live-action version for Boruto: Naruto The movie could be in the works soon under Lionsgate. The animated film's arrival in the US is also expected to be delayed for a couple of days.
According to a report by The Bitbag, the success of the animated film spawned interest in creating a live-action which is currently being worked on by Lionsgate. The film production studio is reportedly negotiating with the Naruto series creator Masashi Kishimoto for the rights of the film.
As of yet, no actors have been chosen for the vital roles, but according to a report by Latinos Post, former Visual Effects expert Michael Gracey is officially on board to direct the film along with Avi Arad and Ari Arad.
The animated movie was a huge box office hit in Japan during its release in August where it earned $5.46 million within the first three days of screening. The film was also dubbed to be the greatest among the works of Kishimoto by several critics.
After the Japan release, it is presently expected to arrive in US theaters. However, according to Realty Today, fans might have to extend the wait for several days more as its scheduled October 07 release, had been moved to October 10. The film will be released in California, New York, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Arizona, New Jersey, and Massachusets.
The film centers in Naruto's son, Boruto, who strives to pass the Chunin Exams and aiming to surpass the achievements of his father and eventually trains under Sasuke only to witness his father disappear in front of his own two eyes during the exam.
The film the 11th instalment in the popular franchise by Kishimoto. It is directed by Hiroyuki Yamashita and story by Masashi Kishimoto. It will hit US theaters on October 10 and arrive in Australia on October 15 to 21, 2015.
