There have been no word yet when "Game of Thrones" will be back on air but fans are never left in dark on the latest events about the series. There have been a trickle of casting updates lately and the latest is the addition of three actors slated to play Samwell Tarly's (John Bradley-West) family members in the coming sixth season of the highly successful HBO series.
Christian Post reports that James Faulkner, Samantha Spiro and Rebecca Benson are all set to go to Spain where filming of the series is in full swing.
Same report says that HBO confirmed that James Faulkner, previously from "Downton Abbey", will be playing the role of Sam's "famously stern and martial father".
Spiro, a renowned theatre star, will take on the role of Sam's mother while the Scottish actress, Benson will play his sister, Talla. Previously, it was announced that "Unreal" star, Freddie Stromo was signed on to play Sam' brother, Dickon.
Meanwhile, A-list actors Richard E. Grant and Ian McShane have also been previously casted in still unspecified roles in Season 6 reports Vanity Fair. Max von Sydow will be the Three-Eyed Raven and mentor to the returning character, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright). The character of Stark was the best friend and confidante of the purportedly dead Jon Snow. He was last seen departing the Wall to pursue his ambition of being a master. "Babadook" star Essie Davis, will meanwhile appear as a stage performer impersonating Lena Headey's Cersei.
New cast member Pilou Asbæk confirmed that he will be playing the one-eyed pirate Euron Greyjoy in an interview. He however said he cannot discuss the show as much as he wanted to because he signed a non-disclosure agreement as part of his contract. Design n Trend reports that at first he wanted to keep his role in the series a secret but it was revealed nonetheless after the show's dedicated fans spotted him filming a scene at the Ireland set where the other characters were cheering and shouting Euron Greyjoy's name.
Filming for the next season is also taking place in Girona Spain simultaneously where Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Faye Marsay (Waif) and Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H'ghar) have been spotted. Leaked photos from the set also show a new set of cast members who are playing roles as members of a theater troupe.
