Microsoft Corporation is expected to release three new smartphones into the market; and as the unveiling of these devices were expected to happen today, October 6, lots of leaked images surfaced all over the wire. These images tend to confirm the rumor specifications of these new handsets.
According to Christian Today, Microsoft will be having a special event in New York and it is widely supposed that the event will showcase the first batch of Windows 10 Mobile devices, which possibly include the Lumia 950, 950 XL, and 550. Aside from these new smartphones, the Surface Pro 4 and the Microsoft Band could likewise be unveiled during the event.
The NDTV Gadget cited the features that Lumia 550 might sport, as it was seen through the leaked slides. This device is predicted to feature 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating. It will be engineered with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1GHz working hand-in-hand with 1GB RAM. It is also expected to supported with 8 GB of internal storage, which can further expand via a microSD card up to 128GB.
As for the camera it will be armed with a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Lastly, Microsoft Lumia 550 will be powered by a 1905 mAh capacity battery.
Furthermore, Slash Gear stated the believed specifications of Lumia 950 and 950XL. Both of these handsets will reportedly be armored with a Quad HD screen, 5.2 inches on the 950 and 5.7 inches on the 950 XL. The Lumia 950 runs on the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 while the Lumia 950XL will sport the octa-core Snapdragon 810. Both of them will receive a 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable data storage.
As for the camera, both devices is believed to feature a 20 megapixel PureView main camera with OIS, complete with triple LED flash on the 950 XL and dual LED flash on the 950. These gadgets are also said to have the same 5 megapixel front selfie cam. Both of these flagships by Microsoft will have iris scanners to showcase Microsoft's new Windows Hello security.
The Lumia 950 will be powered by a smaller 3,000 mAh battery compared to the 3,300 mAh on the 950 XL, but then both of them will be charged via USB Type-C as well as Qi-compatible wireless charging. Lastly, these devices will also support Windows 10 Continuum via a special connector.
Since none of these specifications were confirmed by the Microsoft Corporation yet, fans will have to wait for probably a day or two before every little detail about the aforementioned Lumia models will be made available online.
