Microsoft Corporation recently held an event, unveiling its newest operating sytem Windows 10 together with its newest smartphones. One of these handsets was the low-end 4G and 4.7-inched Lumia 550 that runs on Windows 10 OS.
MNR Daily cited the features that Microsoft Lumia 550 carries. According to the site, this device sports a similar design to the previous budget Microsoft Lumia handsets, excluding the new Windows logo on the its rear panel. The lock button and volume buttons are located on the right side of the handset while the headphone jack is situated at the top. The speaker on the other hand, can be seen at the lower back panel corner.
Lumia 550 Measures 136.1x67.8x9.9mm and it features a 4.7 inch HD display with a resolution of 720x 1280 pixels, offering a pixel density of 315 PPI. As per Ars Technica, this umia handset is running on QUALCOMM's quad-core Snapdragon 210 chipset clocked at 1.1GHz, working hand-in-hand with an Adreno 304 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Apart from that, the device also sports 8GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 200 GB through a microSD card.
As for its camera, NDTV Gadgets says it sports a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, an f/2.4 aperture and HD video recording capability. Furthermore, it has features like auto/manual exposure, geotagging and touch focus. The device also has a 2-megapixel front facing camera with an f/2.8 aperture and 480p video recording ability.
Microsoft Lumia 550 comes with a Micro-USB port and is powered by a removable 2100mAh capacity battery, which is capable of delivering up to 28 days of standby time, 16 hours of 2G, 14 hours of 3G and 17 hours of 4G talk time.
Lumia 550 is available in red, white, blue, and black, these use the same design as former low-end Lumia phones: black glass fronts with a wraparound polycarbonate shell.
Microsoft Lumia 550 will be due in December at $139 (roughly Rs. 9,100).
