There are new reports surfacing about the rumored iPhone 7. Apple's forthcoming iPhone is alleged to be waterproof and may come with the ability to recharge the battery wirelessly.
Rumor has it that the Cupertino-based tech giant has applied for a patent that could possibly mean the most anticipated iPhone 7 will be able to charge itself wirelessly. With the use of coils built in to both iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, the upcoming iPhone will be up for wireless charging.
According to Apple's patent application, entitled "Inductive Power Transfer Using Acoustic or Haptic Devices", that was published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday, an invention using a metai coil could function in two modes. The first proposed mode is by using the coil to capture sound for a microphone or to create sound waves for an iPhone's speaker. On the other hand, the second projected mode is by using the coil to wirelessly charge a device when connected to a wireless charger.
Apparently, this is not the first time Apple has filed a patent application with regards to wireless charging. Back in 2013, Apple has discovered using an NFC antenna to charge a device wirelessly. Thus, many expected it to be included in the Apple Watch or iPhone 6, but were disappointed.
Other predictions about the much-awaited iPhone 7 include its size that is rumored to be around the same slim size of the iPad Air 2 or iPod Touch. There is also a possibility that a dual lens technology will be incorporated in the upcoming iPhone. Moreover, better Touch ID, Force Touch technology, sapphire display, and gesture control support are said to be included in iPhone 7 as well.
Its processor is speculated to be powered by a powerful six-core A10 chip, a notable improvement over the previous iPhone's dual-core processing chip. Additionally, its release date will most probably be in September 2016, following the usual timetable of Apple when launching new mobile devices.
All Apple users and spectators have to patiently wait for the official announcement of the tech giant. Nevertheless, the company will give a yet another promising and groundbreaking smartphone for everyone.
