Last Thursday’s episode of "Scandal" tested the friendship of Abby and Olivia. The web of lies that Olivia put out to protect her affair with the president finally hit the fan – heavily affecting Abby and her role at The White House. Moving forward, a familiar face is set to resurface to team up with Huck and co. inside the OPA’s realm.
It was quite an interesting turn of events for once BFF’s Abby and Liv last week on Scandal. But with Liv’s internal affairs with the president, she is left with no choice but to put Abby on shaky grounds at the White House.
As Vulture cited in a "Scandal" recap, “Abby and Liv are best friends, yet Liv lied to her about starting back up with Fitz, which totally makes Abby look bad at work.”
Although the co-Gladiators did not see eye-to-eye at the beginning, they were able to sort out their differences and renewed their friendship in the final minutes of the episode. “Thankfully, by episode's end, Liv apologizes, and she and Abby are on good terms again,” the publication added.
The portrayer of Abby, Darby Stanchfield, offered her thoughts about the duo’s rocky relationship on Scandal – citing that their friendship will only continue to be stronger. “It does. It continues to grow. There are some scenes that even surprised me, just in terms of there being a deeper trust or a deeper confiding or a deeper sort of problem-solving together. I think it will be really fun for fans to see their friendship blossom even deeper,” the actress shared in an interview with Variety.
As to what happens next, fans should lookout for an old ally to resurface on the hot ABC series next week. As shared by The Futon Critic, “Huck and Quinn recruit a familiar face to help smooth over the media storm surrounding Olivia”.
