In "Outlander" Season 2, Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) escaped from Scotland and will be living as aristocrats in France while they try to change history by preventing the killings at Culloden Moor. The two will be shown dressed in opulent Parisian fashion as they masquerade as wealthy wine importers. Viewers will get to meet new characters that the couple will encounter while in France. More importantly, their daughter, Brianna will be introduced for the first time.
While in France, they will be making new enemies and establishing new friendships with new characters. Christian Today reveals that Claire for one will be friends with a mysterious apothecary owner named Raymund and Mother Hildegard, the Mother Superior of a Parisian Abbey. Jamie, on the other hand, will consider Charles as his close friend. However, both of them will also have a dangerous new enemy, their biggest rival in the wine trade.
While actors playing the many new characters for "Outlander" Season 2 have already been named and introduced to the viewers, many are still awaiting for any update about fan-favorite, Brianna. Showrunner Ron Moore previously revealed in a series of Twitter Q&A's with fans that the show still has not found its Brianna Randall. However, a recent announcement that Maeve Foley will be joining the cast led many to believe that she will be the one playing Brianna. Her role in the series is yet to be officially announced.
Brianna Ellen Randall Fraser MacKenzie is the second daughter of Claire and Jamie Fraser. According to Crossmap, Brianna did not know who her true parents were until the man she thought was her father, Frank Randall, died and her mother took her to Scotland. While there, she told Brianna and Roger MacKenzie about her journey through time and her life with Jamie.
Youth Health Mag reports that Brianna will secretly follow her mother back in time to find the father she never met and the family she never knew. Brianna's time travel though was only introduced in the fourth book of Diana Gabaldon's book series of the same name. Clearly, "Outlander" Season 2 is slightly deviating from the events that transpired in"Dragonfly in Amber" from which the season is said to be based on.
It looks like the more spoilers come out, the more intriguing "Outlander" Season 2 becomes. For instance, how did Brianna end up in Frank Randall's care and even taking his name instead of Jamie's? This and more will only be answered on the show's return in 2016 on Starz.
