Writer and producer of "Outlander" Ron Moore recently made some welcome revelations on Twitter that included when to expect The Season 2 premiere. He also teased about next season's plot, where the cast and crew are currently filming and casting calls for two major characters.
"Hasn't been set officially. Look for March/April," Moore tweeted to a question in a Q&A with fans on Twitter on the possible date of the premier reports Reality Today.
"Outlander" Season 2 will be based on Diana Gabaldon's second book, "Dragonfly in Amber", of the Outlander book series. The main characters, Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall, are headed to France with the intention of meeting Bonnie Prince Charlie and to stop the Battle of Culloden from happening. This explains why the production was moved from the U.K. to Prague in the Czech Republic which resembles Paris of the 1740s more than the present day Paris does. The whole of season one was shot in its entirety in the UK.
The Latin Post reports that Moore spoke of how the time traveling couple's move to France will do nothing less than change history and the opulence they would find in the era. "It's a completely different show. You're talking about fine linens and silks, you're talking about gilt chandeliers, you know, everything that your mind conjures up when you say Versailles or Paris of that era."
In another development, another major character will be introduced in Season 2, that of Jamie and Claire's daughter named Brianna. Your Health Mag reveals that a casting call for the character has started. Moore, in the Q&A, as much as confirmed this when he said that the search for Brianna was underway at that time. The official description of the character is that of an intelligent woman who exudes effortless charm and a sense of humor.
Another character yet to be casted according to Moore is that of Roger MacKenzie who is the husband of Brianna in the book series. He is also the adopted son of Reverend Wakefield and has made a bries appearance as a child in "Outlander"'s Season 1.
Surely, fans would have wanted for Ron Moore to have revealed more in his Q&A on Twitter. What were divulged so far were enough to tease them to watch the "Outlander" Season 2 premiere on 2016.
