Last week’s "How To Get Away With Murder" plotted an interesting storyline for Annalise Keating, giving viewers a new level of insight on her moral compass. The episode titled “Skanks Get Shanked” also allowed for Michaela to evolve as a character when Annalise enlisted her to use her “femininity” to get intel on their ongoing case. Moving forward, HTGAWM will unfold another layer about Wes’ quest to unlock the mystery behind Rebeca’s disappearance.
Viola Davis’ delivered another remarkable performance on Thursday’s episode. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Annalise was asked by Nia (aka her lover’s wife) to end her suffering due to her interminable battle with cancer.
“Annalise visits her, and Nia asks what kind of woman can sleep with a dying man’s wife and whether Annalise loves Nate. Annalise can’t answer: maybe because she lacks emotion or maybe because Annalise has a little bit of love for everyone. That’s when Nia goes all in and grabs Annalise’s hand and asks her to kill her,” the site wrote.
This arc can be somehow perceived as a conduit used by the writers to establish that Annalise, despite of it all, still bears some moral grounds.
Meanwhile, “Skanks Get Shanked” also focused heavily on Aja Naomi King’s character, Michaela. The Huffington Post has cited that Shonda Rhimes permitted Michaela to evolve in this episode when she was tasked to work on their ongoing case involving the rich twins.
“In the case this week, she's on point -- excelling under pressure, despite Annalise pushing her to use her boobs to get her way. She gets to the truth of the matter with the siblings, finding out that the sister, Catherine, is a virgin (are we really doing a virginity test, ABC? Really?) in order to disprove the incest claims,” the publication said.
As to what happens next week, fans of HTGAWM are in for another turn of events. As shared by The Futon Critic, “Wes' search to find out more about Rebecca's disappearance culminates into an explosive confrontation”.
Since it’s already been revealed that Bonnie is the killer of Rebecca, it is palpable that Wes will finally learn the truth next Thursday.
"How To Get Away With Murder" airs every Thursday on ABC.
