ABC has ordered six more episodes for its freshman drama, "Quantico". The new series, created by Josh Safran, will now move forward with a total of nineteen episodes on its first season. It stars Bollywood breakout star, Priyanka Chopra.
Now that Quantico has already establish itself as a hit for ABC, viewers should lookout for more surprises in the coming weeks. Deadline reported that the network is also considering to order three more episodes, which will make Quantico’s first season to run on a more satisfying scale.
“The network considers that a full-season order as it is looking to accommodate a slew of drama series for midseason. However, there is an ongoing conversation, and the pickup may be increased from the current 19 episodes to get closer to the standard full-season 22 episodes”.
The Hollywood Reporter said that the announcement of a full-season order comes from Quantico’s impressive performance on its Sunday 10PM slot on ABC.
“Quantico ranks as Sunday's top broadcast program among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic. The series, from ABC Studios and showrunner Josh Safran, has posted big gains in the time slot and improved the network's performance by 46 percent,” the publication shared.
This news has certainly gave "Quantico" an edge among its fellow freshman series. Unfortunately, some shows will not make the cut. “Quantico joins Blindspot as the only new fall network shows to receive more episodes so far. No shows have been canceled yet, but Blood & Oil and Minority Report should be goners any day now,” TV.com commented in a report.
"Quantico" is a new FBI-thriller series created by Josh Saffran. It follows the gripping journey of FBI trainee Alex Parrish, who after a terrorist attack in New York became the prime suspect for the major tragedy. After capturing the viewers’ interest on its Sept. 27th debut, ABC has given the series a full-season order.
