Sheldon and Amy are at the stage of their post-breakup relationship where they are beginning to finally accept that things are over between them. "The Big Bang Theory" presented this arc for the fan favorite couple on last Monday’s episode. In other "Big Bang news", the CBS comedy has upped actress Laura Spencer to series regular for its current ninth season.
Sheldon and Amy have become one of the most sought after couples on television after hitting it off years ago on Big Bang. Now that they are facing an experimental period, it will be interesting to see them move forward and explore the world of dating.
Monday’s episode allowed for this arc to kick off. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, “A buzzed Sheldon reports to Amy that she should expect a date invitation from Barry Kripke at any moment. Amy informs Sheldon that she already received said invitation (accompanied by a naked picture), but she turned him down. Sheldon slurs that he was turned down earlier, too, when he asked a couple of women out at the bar. The news that Sheldon is moving on crushes Amy,” the site wrote.
In other developments, "The Big Bang Theory" has made a few changes on the status of its cast members recently. TV Line has learned that Laura Spencer, the portrayer of Raj Koothrapalli’s girlfriend, has been promoted to series regular. “Spencer will be a fractional series regular in sitcom’s current ninth season. The status tweak guarantees the actress’ availability on an as-needed basis (i.e. she will not be in every episode),” reveals the site.
Moving forward, expect for "Big Bang" to explore on Amy’s side when it comes to dating. According to the episode description released by The Futon Critic, next Monday’s episode will find Penny and Bernadette downloading a dating app to try and find a new man for Amy.
"The Big Bang Theory" airs every Monday nights on CBS.
