Mortal Kombat X Update: Former Fighters To Join Kombat Pack 2 DLC Revealed; Game Surpasses Five Million Worldwide Sales

By

It has been more than a month since NetherRealm creative director and "Mortal Kombat" co-creator Ed Boon unveiled via his Twitter page that "Mortal Kombat X" would reportedly get a Kombat Pack 2 DLC. Reports claim the said DLC might feature some of the game's former fighters. Meanwhile, the game has recently surpassed five million in terms of worldwide sales.

According to Christian Today, creative director/co-creator Ed Boon has been providing fans with clues on which "Mortal Kombat" fighters will be included in the Kombat Pack 2 DLC. Smoke, who was massively popular in "Mortal Kombat 9," is reportedly one of the possible characters to join in the said DLC. In fact, he was briefly seen during the campaign for "Mortal Kombat X," hinting that it is only a matter of time before he becomes a playable character again.

Latin Post, on the other hand, reported that the 51-year-old "Mortal Kombat" creator revealed an image of Havik and Drahmin via his Twitter account. It is worth noting that these characters have not appeared since 2006's "Mortal Kombat: Armageddon." The image that Boon tweeted also reportedly shows how the said characters have better graphics and detailed faces compared to how they were in the past. Hence, this could mean that "Mortal Kombat X" has taken both Havik and Drahmin and optimized them for inclusion in the upcoming game.

Speculations have also emerged about Spawn being a possible candidate, especially that creator Todd McFarlane have reportedly provided Warner Bros. Entertainment the rights to use the character for their game. However, the offer is reportedly for a limited time only; thus, the publisher must take advantage of the offer right before it expires.

Meanwhile, IGN reported that "Mortal Kombat X" have surpassed the five million mark in terms of worldwide sales, along with "Batman: Arkham Knight." Over the course of years, Warner Bros. has shot the top thanks to major hits of both games. The two were released earlier this year, but "Batman: Arkham Knight's" troubled PC launch had caused quite a stir, forcing the studio to pull the game from sale.

It is known that fans have since been asking for former fighters to appear in "Mortal Kombat X;" thus, if the reports are true, the Kombat Pack 2 DLC will surely be a force to reckon.
